Garden Sanctuary

Garden Sanctuary

You who walk, maybe with troubled thoughts,
Come, enter here and rest ...

And may the sweet serenity of growing things ...

And the heavenly peace ...

Be mirrored in thy soul.

The Colors of Summer

With temperatures hovering at the 100 degree mark and higher here in Mississippi (and probably where you live, too!), my flowers are looking bedraggled and forlorn. I thought I would share some happier looking flowers from summers past that I've preserved in pictures. Hope they brighten your day ...

Dynamite Red

My husband and I visited my parents over the weekend at their home in northeast Louisiana. I took my cameras along, and couldn't resist capturing their glorious little red Crape Myrtle tree in full bloom ...

I believe it is called "Dynamite Red," which is very appropriate ...

I wish I had gotten more close up shots, but with the temperature hovering in the mid-nineties, and the heat index over 100, I didn't linger long in the sun.

The bright red blossoms against the blue sky were truly breathtaking ...

Summer Trumpets

One of the prettiest and most colorful summer wildflowers is the Trumpet Vine.

Its flowers are truly glorious, and I was delighted to see these up close through my camera lens ...

Isn't God's glory awesome!
And it's everywhere — all we have to do is stop and look at it.

I hope your weekend is a good one ...
wherever it may lead you.
