Homegrown Tomatoes ...

It's summertime and the livin' is easy ... Homegrown tomatoes are ripenin' on the vine and everything's right with the world.

One of the simplest pleasures of life is picking a juicy red tomato off the vine, still hot from the sun ... wiping the dust off on your sleeve, and eating it right there in the garden!

Southern Humorist Lewis Grizzard said it best when he said, "It's difficult to think anything but pleasant thoughts while eating a homegrown tomato."

Lewis was right, bless his heart -- and I can't wait to start enjoying this summer's tomatoes.

I think you can ditch that Blogging for Dummies Book! Your blog is wonderful!! And yes, I am southern, so we both know what ditch means! LOLOL! I saw your blog over at Picket's and wanted to stop in and meet you! So glad I did... Looks to me, like you have blogging down pat! I have enjoyed my visit. I turned your player on to Elvis' In the Garden, sat back, and read and looked! I laughed at the southerner antics! I'm in NC, so I was familar with them all! LOL! ...and your silver urn/planter was just gorgeous! I love the idea of staining the urns! I would have never thought of that...a great tip, indeed!

So glad I stopped in for a visit. It's been a pleasure! Hope you don't mind me adding you to my favorite's roster, so that I may return and see what's new with you!

Take Care! ~Rhonda ;)

Hi Janie :)

I don't think you need that book anymore. Your blog looks beautiful!

I absolutely love homegrown tomatoes! My grandmother was a Texas native and even though she and my grandpa lived in CA, they have a garden in the backyard with fruit trees and vegetables. It was a magical place to play in as a child. She used to put Miracle Whip on everything LOL

Thank you for the sweet words about the farmhouse :)
