A Tag about Books ...

My friend Diane at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words, recently tagged me to list "Seven Unimportant Book Facts about Myself." After thinking about it for a while, here's my list ...

(1) I'm guilty of judging a book by its cover. For instance, I recently read Ann Rivers Siddons' book, The House Next Door, mainly because the cover (on the left) appealed to me. If I had seen the older version of the cover on the right, I may not have picked it up ...

(2) I prefer hardback books to paperbacks.

(3) I'm addicted to listening to audio books while driving. I'm currently listening to Nelson DeMille's Gold Coast, and I'm enjoying it so much that I hate for it to end. But I have his newest book (the sequel to Gold Coast), The Gate House, to listen to next, so at least I have it to look forward to.

(4) I'm also eagerly awaiting Belva Plain's new novel, Crossroads, which is due out next week.

Unlike some best-selling authors, Ms. Plain doesn't publish new books every six months or so, which makes her books even more special.

(5) I love Vince Flynn's books, especially the ones with his picture on the back ...

What's not to like, huh ?

(6) I love reading to my three-year-old granddaughter Avery, especially sharing books with her that I read to my children when they were her age. I still have a lot of them and even have some that my grandmother read to me.

(7) Books are also great decorating tools.

In my opinion, nothing makes a home cozier or more welcoming than well-read books and magazines scattered throughout.

I appreciate Diane including me in this fun tag, and invite anyone who would like to participate to do so. I hope you will visit Diane at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words. I'm sure she will become one of your favorite blogging ladies, too.

Sincerely,
