The Colors of Summer

With temperatures hovering at the 100 degree mark and higher here in Mississippi (and probably where you live, too!), my flowers are looking bedraggled and forlorn. I thought I would share some happier looking flowers from summers past that I've preserved in pictures. Hope they brighten your day ...

Photo Potpourri

Just a little photo potpourri today ... Lotus Blossom "Eat mor chikn!" Eye to eye with a Dragonfly Mint Springs, Vicksburg Piano Art Hwy. 61 North, Mississippi Delta Just leaves Wildflowers Hope your day is filled with a potpourri of "good things." I'm going to be spending it with my grandchildren, so I know it's going to be a good day.

Dynamite Red

My husband and I visited my parents over the weekend at their home in northeast Louisiana. I took my cameras along, and couldn't resist capturing their glorious little red Crape Myrtle tree in full bloom ... I believe it is called "Dynamite Red," which is very appropriate ... I wish I had gotten more close up shots, but with the temperature hovering in the mid-nineties, and the heat index over 100, I didn't linger long in the sun. The bright red blossoms against the blue sky were truly breathtaking ...

Summer Trumpets

One of the prettiest and most colorful summer wildflowers is the Trumpet Vine. Its flowers are truly glorious, and I was delighted to see these up close through my camera lens ... Isn't God's glory awesome! And it's everywhere — all we have to do is stop and look at it. I hope your weekend is a good one ... wherever it may lead you.
