The Pleasure of His Company, Continued

We had the pleasure of keeping our almost-two-year-old grandson Maddox over the weekend, and a good time was had by all.  Such a sweet and simple pleasure of life  ... watching your grandbaby discover new and fun things.

My parents came to play, too, and it took the four of us to keep up with him.  Oh, to have the energy of a two-year-old!  Maddox is "all boy," but is such a sweet and loving baby, too.

I think his favorite activity of the weekend was playing with the water hose.  Even though the water was just a trickle, he had a ball ...

It didn't take him long to discover that he could get a drink of water from the hose ...

Not very sanitary, but oh, so cute!

And even more fun was watching him enjoy his first popsicle ...

Notice how wrinkled his little hand is in this next picture ...

Uh-oh!  Part of it broke off ...

No problem ... I'll just lay the other part down for a minute.

There were also indoor activities that kept him busy, like playing in his tunnel ...

And playing with the iPad with his little dog friend, Max ...

Who is always close by ...

At the end of the day, our little guy was tired and ready for some quiet time watching TV ...

And his grandparents and great-grandparents were ready ... for BED!

Oh my goodness, he's just precious. Makes me miss my boys when they were little. Popsicles and water hose time are the best!

Gosh! How sweet! Can they not wear you out? The popsicle pic is just too precious.

I can hardly wait until my 4-mth old grandson is big enough to enjoy outside like this.

He is so precious! What fun he had and the memories that you created are priceless. My oldest grandson (9 years old) has always loved to play with the garden hose!

Thanks for sharing such rich treasure with us, dear friend... the moments you spent with Maddox are jewels that will sparkle in your memory long after he goes home with his parents....

His innocent delight in the simple things makes me think of Matt. 18:3 where the Lord tells us we must "become as little children...."

Hugs,
Jenni

I can't believe how that precious little one that we all prayed for not so very long ago has grown. He just makes your heart sing (and mine too)

It sure does look like a "fun" time was had by all. His little hands look like they got, what I used to call "pruney", all wrinkled from playing in the water.
Maddox is such a cute little man. I'm so glad your parents were able to spend time with him too.
I can imagine how you all felt when Maddox settled down for some TV watching.
I hope it won't be long until you can spend more quality time with him and Avery.. I hope she had a great time at the beach.
Spending time with Maddox didn't make the heat feel so bad, did it ?
Thank you for sharing your good time.

Janie,

Your little grandson is so completely adorable and so beautiful.

I know he makes your heart sing and also probably gives you a little extra exercise.

You and your family are so blessed to have him.
