A Cool Cat

My husband and I were driving down a street in Natchez a couple of days ago when I noticed this beautiful little cat sitting in a window of an abandoned house.

Luckily, there was a place to pull over, and I was able to capture these pictures from inside the car.
Those beautiful soulful eyes were mesmerizing and captured my heart.
If you click on the next picture to enlarge it, I'm sure you'll be captivated too.

He, or she, was just sitting there ... contentedly watching the world go by ... and I'm so glad we could stop and visit for a minute.

Somebody loves him or her. The cat is well fed.

Pretty kitty! I think she is full of mice she caught in that house!

Actually, I think she may be expecting some babies in the near future. She did look very healthy and cared for, though. I'd like to think so, anyway.

She does look rather round, so I suspect she is a Mama-to-be. Glad you caught her to share with us!

Did you see the corner of the left ear missing? Maybe he's a lover and a fighter. :)

Your photos are mesmerizing.

Janie,

This is one of my favorite photos you have ever taken. Beautiful, sharp and clear as can be. Kitty seems to see you too!

What an amazing photo ... You are such a great photographer!

Love the cat image. Also several others I've enjoyed on your blog. Heading to Natchez (via the NT Parkway) for the first time. Avid photographer. Any suggested "don't miss" locales along the Parkway and in Natchez? Thanks for any ideas you are able to share.

Reply to Samuel regarding suggestions for "don't-miss" locales in Natchez [no e-mail address provided in your comment shown above]:

Samuel, thanks for taking the time to write me about my blog and pictures. There are so many “don’t miss” locales along the Trace and in Natchez, that I don’t know where to begin. The easiest way I know to make suggestions is to send links to my blog posts (which you may have already read) featuring the areas in and around Natchez. Of course, the obvious attractions are the antebellum houses and plantations, historical sites, and landmarks. I tend to take “the path less traveled” in my ramblings, though … so it depends on what interests you most.

Here are the links to some of the posts I’ve written about my trips to Natchez and the surrounding area:

Those are just a few, and probably way more than you want to know about Natchez. My favorite places to eat in Natchez are Pearl Street Pasta and Fat Mama’s Tamales – casual atmosphere and dress and good food, too! If you are interested in cemeteries, I recommend that you visit the Natchez City Cemetery. It’s beautiful right now, with the azaleas in full bloom.
I hope I’ve been helpful, Samuel … and wish you a good trip and lots of memorable photo shoots!
