As summer's wildflowers fade away and golden rod and spider lilies start cropping up along roadsides, my thoughts turn to decorating for fall, and I just can't wait to replace my summer accessories with my fall decor. In fact, I began thinking about it back in August, and wrote a post called To Everything There is a Season ... Decorating Transitions.
I'd like to share with you a few of the changes I've made for fall using a combination of some old accessories and a few new ones.
This is the spring and summer wreath that hung on our porch door ...
The following pictures are "before and after" vignettes showing more of the changes I made for fall ...
(summer is on the left, fall on the right) ...
And my summer and fall centerpieces
for our dining room table ...
I love sunflowers and "brown-eyed susans" in the fall, and added these bouquets to the baskets on my front doors ...
I've already seen some beautiful and unique fall decorating ideas on several blogs, and hope you will post yours if you haven't already. It's always interesting and fun to see how decorating styles and materials used in decorating differ in other areas of the country.

Beautiful Fall decor, Janie!
Our weather is definitely feeling like Fall. We're enjoying every bit of it!
Janie, Everything is just beautiful! I just love your home! My favorite was the little old basket on the table! :) ~Rhonda
Ya'll just put me to shame. I was gonna post my silly attempt and then I see what everyone else does and I think sheeeesh I suck at this lol. I love how you scatter little touches all over your home for each season. I think that's so cool and it keeps things fresh and interesting. I'll never have my stuff that together!
LOVE your fall wreath on the door, did you make it? It's so pretty :)
Janie, thank you for sharing your fall home "change-over" with us. It's the details that make a difference and I love them all. I only wish it felt like fall here in Central California. It was in the 90's today. Seems like we jump from summer to winter and back again with just a small taste of winter and spring in between. Thanks for the home decor inspiration.
I forgot to thank you for the close-up pic of your lovely scale. I couldn't get a good enough view of it at Rate My Space and I really need to have one of those on my breakfast bar.
Just gorgeous...all of it! I LOVE that scale!
Your home is beautiful...I loved the little baskets on the doors.

Lovely. I started doing mine last week-end. I love the punch of orange in the house, Fall decorating to me is as good as XMas decorating. I love the Harvest theme.
You have such a pretty home.
Kathy :)
Janie I love your before and after photos. Your home is so beautiful and so welcoming not stuffy. You used just the right touches of fall color in each of your rooms, they look so chic. You did a wonderful job.
Thanks for sharing;
Hugs;
