I created my first post for Southern Lagniappe" on April 21, 2008, and I can't believe this post is my 100th.
I've written a couple of posts about how much I enjoy blogging and how it has affected me (Just Babblin' ... and Reflections on the Doors of Blogging), so I'm not going to talk about that now. I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you, my blogging friends, for being so kind and gracious and supportive. Your sincerity and compassion and friendship mean so much to me.
In celebration of reaching my 100th Post milestone, I'm giving away this pretty little rooster picture by a talented local artist, B. J. Crawford. It stands about 8" tall and the gilt frame is glued to the easel so it's all one piece.
Now, I know a lot of you collect and covet roosters in any shape, form, or fashion, and I'm sure you would love this little picture. All you have to do to qualify for the drawing is leave a comment on this post and your name will automatically be entered.
The drawing will be Friday, October 17th, and I look forward to sending the picture to the winner.

I've fallen behind on my blog visiting, but I'm glad I came by today...Congratulations for 100 posts! The rooster art is so sweet, but don't enter me for it because I don't have a spare square inch to put another thing in my kitchen...LOl ;-) Bo
Good morning! And congrats on reaching that milestone! I have really never been a blog reader until I found your space on HGTV's RMS. I fell in love with your home and then had to visit your blog. Now I'm hooked. Being a Mississippi girl as well, the first place I go every morning is to see what words of wisdom you have left us. I have gone back and read everything you wrote. It's so nice to hear a southern view on simple things in life. Keep up the good work, and I'll continue reading.
Sandi (now in AL...after a while out of the south!)

Hi, Sandi ...
I hope you find this because I couldn't comment on your blog page.
Thank you for taking the time to write me about Southern Lagniappe. Reading your kind and gracious words was such a nice way to start my day -- and my week!
I hope you will pursue your blog. You're off to a great start and your puppies are precious, by the way.
Thank you again for your sweet note and I'll look forward to visiting your blog again soon.
Sincerely,
Janie
Hi Janie,
Congratulations on your 100th post!
I really enjoy your blog and well remember how I found it. I went into my profile and clicked on Mississippi and found you like that. You had just updated your blog, and they are listed in the order that the blogs are updated. I think you were the very first person to comment on my blog, and I remember how excited I was to have someone actually make a comment.
I remember both of the posts that you did about blogging too.
The little rooster is adorable!
Here's to another 100 posts! Have a great day,
Diane
Congratulations on your 100th post. I am starting a new blog of my own,
http://youknowjuststuff.blogspot.com/, it's a learning process, so I'm not as good as you, but strive to be.
My kitchen is already decorated in roosters, and I would love to have this guy to join them.

I would love this for my mom, she would just drool!

A hundred posts! Your blog is great.
I haven't a rooster collection, but I do still have blue ribbons from a long time ago when my chickens won a prize.
What a generous and beautiful prize! I think I'm gonna have to shoulder my way through this crowd...STEP BACK BJ...I saw it first!

Good evening from England! I found your blog a few weeks ago and have been reading all the old ones to catch up!
Love your photography and this link to the South. I used to live in Germantown, outside Memphis and have visited many of the Southern states.
I look forward to reading more!
Bente (an honorary Southern Belle, I hope!)
Janie,
I guess I had best de-lurk and get into the action! Hope it's okay. I found your blog through Rhoda's, and I'm enjoying it immensely.
That rooster painting is darling! Having been to Cursillo (one of whose symbols is the rooster) and also having a collection of cluck-clucks in my kitchen, I would adore him and would promise to give him a very happy home.
Congratulations on your 100th post.
Sheila... who one day hopes to have a nice blog like yours up and running :-)
Congratulations on your 100th post!
