The color and the shine, and the light pouring onto and even through the little gems---simply breathtaking. I KNOW all of them, but don't know exactly what they all ARE, except beautiful.
I went looking for a lightbulb tonight, and smelled a new scent in the hall cabinet---a square glass dish with a poured candle called "Winterberry" in a deep plummy color, smelling as if you'd melted Wintergreen Lifesavers into a batch of raspberry jam.
I love the way the little fellows look almost pinned to the cluster, especially the ones like tiny pumpkins.
Remember in FARMER BOY how the Wilder kids ran trough the woods, seeking out great handfuls of winterberries, which they crunched greedily between their teeth.

Berries are so pretty. We have too many plants in our front flower bed already. The other day I was talking about taking out a few holly bushes...my dad wants them just for the berries.
So pretty Janie ~ Beautiful photos as always!
