One of my favorite shrubs is the Cleyera plant (Cleyera Japonica), an evergreen shrub, with foliage similar to the Camellia.
Cleyeras grow to be around 15 feet tall, with graceful, arching branches. They produce small clusters of fragrant, creamy white flowers in the summer, followed by small, puffy red berries in the Fall, which last throughout the winter.
We have several Cleyera plants, which are loaded with seed pods now.
I think the seed pods are beautiful, and would like to share some close ups I captured with my macro lens (some of these were taken last Fall, and some were taken last week).
