Together Again ! ... Follow Up on Dining Room Story

This is a follow up post about the recent repairs to our dining room ceiling which sustained water damage as a result of an air conditioner leak in our attic the weekend of June 28th. If you'd like to hear "the rest of the story," you can read about it in two of my previous posts called, "A Soggy Homecoming" and "A Soggy Homecoming Revisited."

This is a "before" picture showing the water damage ...

And here is the "after" picture ...

So, to make a long story short ... five weeks later, my dining room is back together again and we are very pleased with the repairs. You literally cannot tell that anything ever happened.

It was almost worth going through this experience to find a contractor we can trust, who will do what he says he's going to do, and do it professionally and efficiently. It's a comfort to know that we know who to call the next time we need repairs or a remodeling job done ... and that's what I call lagniappe.

Morning Janie! Can you please send your contractor up here!!!!lol He did a fantastic job. Your dining room is as gorgeous as ever. I love your home because it isn't "overdone" just screams "elegant". Glad this is over for you. By the way I LOVE your title page; your pond is exactly what I wish we had done; my husband dug ours by hand and he did a great job but I wish we could do it over because I really wanted it in another spot but we were in such a rush to get the fish in! oh well, next house!lol Have a great day - Jeannette

I'm so jealous of your dining room! When we first looked at this house 5 years ago I thought I would love the Great Room which is a living/dining combination. I don't. I really, really like having a dining room and a breakfast room. Yours is so beautiful and I'm happy you're back "together" again. Blessings, marlene

It's great to see your beautiful home is back in one piece. Now the gorgeous molding is what draws your eye up...instead of the peeling paint. HOORAY contractor DUDE!

Well that is "a little something extra for good measure" for sure...coming home to a soggy dining room! Lovely dining room, and I can't believe you can't tell a thing ever happened. You have a lovely home (and blog!).

You have one of the most beautiful dining rooms I have ever seen. I'm so glad you were able to have the repairs done and not ever know anything happened.
