Diane at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words has changed her "Trash to Treasure Tuesday" to "2nd Time Around Tuesday," and invites us to share all of our treasures, not just the ones we've transformed from "trash."
I think this is a great idea and I appreciate Diane so graciously hosting it for us. I'm looking forward to participating every week and seeing everyone's treasures ... from priceless heirlooms to thrift store bargains.
For my first "2nd Time Around" post, I'd like to share some items I recently acquired at an estate sale at an old house here in Vicksburg.
My favorite is this vintage brass scale which someone told me was originally used to measure gold. It was sitting on a breakfast table covered by an arrangement of dusty, awful-looking fake fruit and flowers. I was so excited when I saw it because all of the original parts, including the weights, were intact.
I love its simplicity and found, what I think is, the perfect place for it in my breakfast area (notice no fruit or flowers, awful-looking or otherwise) ...
My next find was this rustic old copper pitcher, and the minute I saw it, I could picture these (not dusty!) flowers in it ...
It was love at first sight when I saw this beautiful old brass school bell. It sits on our game table in the breakfast area, along with the copper pitcher of flowers ...
{By the way, the books that the lamp is sitting on are part of a set my parents bought my brothers and me when we were little. They are on their third time around, because I've been reading them to our granddaughter Avery.}
I think my taste is changing because all of these purchases are rather primitive looking, and I love how warm and pretty they look together in my breakfast area ...
This little mahogany table was my last purchase at the estate sale, and it is in one of our guest bedrooms temporarily, until I can find a better place for it ...
This was fun, and I look forward to seeing all the other "second time around" treasures. Thank you, again, Diane ... for taking the time to be our hostess.

Oh my gosh, your items are all so lovely. The best part is they all coordinate in your room perfectly. They belong together. The look is awesome with the books too.
Have a great day and enjoy your beautiful treasures.

You truly found some lovely treasures! I did click and they are beautiful.
We do not see many estate sales here. It would be wonderful to go through old homes and find the once cherished items of others.
I loved the scales and the old school bell.

LOVE the scales! All of your 'treasures' are great items. The table is beautiful. And I think everything just flows perfectly together in your dining room. Simply Gorgeous.
What a way you have with all of your treasures! So beautiful! I just noticed me on your sidebar! That's so nice... and looking at your Mississippi pics makes me long for home! I grew up in North Louisiana, but live in West Texas now (and I lovingly refer to it as the desert!) I'll be back often!
Janie, I love each and every one of your found treasures!
Just perfect..
