First Tomato "Harvest"

As a follow up to my Tuesday's post on our granddaughter Avery's tomatoes, I want to share these three photos of her "harvesting" her first tomato. These were taken yesterday soon after she arrived for a weekend visit, and I think the pictures speak for themselves ...

Her great-granddaddy will be here later today and I can't wait for her to show him their tomatoes.

A box-seat to the most ageless of rituals and passings of the torch.

Have a wonderful weekend surrounded by all your generations!

She is so cute!

"Real" tomatoes, an old fashioned summertime treat. It brings memories of my childhood, taking the salt shaker to the garden, at granny and granddad's. Also remembering my own children, who always planted cherry tomatoes and still do! Xanti is the only one of our grandchildren who will eat tomatoes. I have photos of her, helping G'pa J plant the garden at the farm.

I'm happy to see Avery, carrying on a tradition!

Have a wonderful weekend, Janie!!
