Hopscotch Pals

I'd like to thank our gracious hostess Susan at A Southern Daydreamer, for taking the time to host our "Outdoor Wednesdays." Be sure to visit Susan to find out the best time to view the Perseid Meteor Shower that is occurring this week.

My post for today features a brief slideshow of some photos I took recently of our granddaughter Avery Grace playing hopscotch with her "young-at-heart" 84-year-old great-grandfather (my dad). The temperature was in the 90s that afternoon, but that didn't seem to bother either one of them. They were having fun, and it was very touching to see the love and special bond they share that transcends the 80-plus years separating them.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow. Be sure your sound is turned up before you click on "play."

Janie, that is one of the most precious things I've ever seen. Imagine how happy Avery will be when she's 20 to be able to watch this.

Have you ever figured out how to back up all of your photography on the blog so it could never get lost? You definitely should...I don't have any idea what I'm talking about but hopefully it can be done.

This is just so precious. And a memory to cherish, always. I was so happy that my grandchildren were able to know their great grandparents. Only one of mine was alive when I was born and died before I was a year old.
Wanted you to know we went to a restaurant with the "L" name while in Ft Walton. Second time I'd seen that word. The first was here.

Your photos are real treasures. So is that 84 year old great grandfather who seems very light on his feet. She is, of course, a doll and he seems really proud of her. All little girls should have a guy like him in their family tree. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

How cute this is, Janie! Your father (FIL?) is just precious with her! I love it that he is able to enjoy his great grandchild. That is just marvelous! That's what life should be all about... the generations enjoying each other.

XO,

Sheila... who is technically on break but wanted to check in one more time before I'm MIA! :-)
