Waiting for Spring

There are 28 more days until Spring's official arrival, and I can't wait until our yard is GREEN again ...

I hope to get outside some next week, weather permitting, and do some "spring cleaning" -- raking, pruning, "fluffing" the pine straw in the flowerbeds, and thinking about what kind of flowers I want to plant.

I've noticed that our Lady Banks roses on the back fence have new leaves coming out, and little sprouts of green Amaryllis leaves are poking through the pine straw. Spring is definitely "in the air," and I want to be ready for it when it arrives.

I am so with you on that!! Do you realize that your yard pictures are so similar to mine? We have some of the same features and I never realized that. Fun!

Me again... the "yard dudes" are coming tomorrow to mow, bag, and clean out the flower beds. I can't wait for that part of it to happen. We are still a couple of months from true spring here but any little step will make me feel better.

And I---waiting, waiting.

I always get lost in your garden, and I think that the hopeful, ever-verdant little clumps of grass among the stones of the path are my favorite part.

They're waiting, as well, and I like to think of them there, all ready to burst into life, as I look out upon the WHITE landscape which has been clinging on here for months.

These strolls amongst your flowers do wonders for the Winter blahs. If the Internet did absolutely nothing else, the sharing of beautiful things would be enough.

Gorgeous shots, Janie!

We were at the Mo Botanical Garden for the Orchid Show, yesterday. Beautiful! While there, we also walked around the outdoor gardens and saw shoots of green popping up, here and there.
