What a Difference a Day Makes

Our Mississippi weather is so fickle these days! Yesterday, I featured photos of a bright sunshiny day here in Vicksburg, with trees budding out ...

And Hyacinths poking through leaves, heralding the arrival of Spring.

This morning, it looks like this outside our windows ...

Poor Claude and Maude — I know they'll be glad when Spring gets here, too.

We don't get a lot of snow here in Mississippi, and it was fun watching it fall last night, but I'm glad the streets are clear and the snow will be gone by tomorrow.

Hopefully, this will be our last wintry precipitation for the season, and we can start thinking about getting our yards and gardens ready for Spring.

I hope it's a bright, sunshiny day in your part of the world today, but if it's not, take heart, and make it a good day!

We have sunshine!! It's twinkling through the kitchen curtains, and belies by the gold this darn TWO DEGREES on my screen!

We don't intend to venture out into the iron-cold of this day (I hope), though people here just go about their business, bundled like little kids in snowsuits, and it's just a normal thing here---even after twenty years, I'm still amazed at the traffic and the laughing, bustling crowds just out for lunch or shopping.

I have a little girl with a pink tutu and her FIRST pair of real ballet slippers (which I had no idea how to put on properly---her Ganner handled it), and so today promises to be lots of twinkly toes and tunes to match.

Hope you're staying warm!!

We didn't get any snow but did get the cold dreary rain and ice. It is overcast and messy. Know I will enjoy the Spring when it gets here.

It is snowing now, but we will not get a lot of snow in Yokohama. I'm going to snow country in the north Japan.
