Prayers at Work

Just a note to thank all of you for the sweet and uplifting messages and prayers for me and my family during this difficult time. This week, we experienced the power of those prayers at work.

Our daughter is six months pregnant and in the hospital on complete bed rest, due to complications which could cause her to go into labor at any time. Her doctor has ordered daily biophysical tests to be performed on the baby, which include a detailed ultrasound to observe the baby's body movements, muscle tone (flexing of the arms and legs), breathing movements (the baby's ability to move his chest muscles and diaphragm), and the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding him. A non-stress test is also done to assess whether the baby's heart rate changes when he's moving. The highest rating a baby can receive on these tests is an 8, and our baby has scored an 8 both times!

My husband continues to do well while recuperating from his hip replacement surgery, but will have several more weeks of physical therapy to regain full strength in his legs.

In the meantime, we are trying to keep things as "normal" as we can under the circumstances for our granddaughter Avery Grace, who celebrated her sixth birthday this past Wednesday.

Thank you again for your genuine concern and compassion — and, most importantly, your prayers. We still have a long way to go, but I know God will grant us the strength and patience to endure whatever He has waiting for us.

Every day is another opportunity to bask in God's grace and strength, and we will all continue to hold you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

As to Avery Grace, my goodness, what a precious child..and what "presence" she has already at just six years old.

I have been praying for y'all, and will continue to do so... God hears and answers prayers! There is so much strength and power in the precious name of Jesus.

I know of a missionary's wife that was on a ship many years ago on her way to Africa, and her child was desperately ill...the poor mother could only cry out "God lay us on some prayer warrior's heart"
Soon the child began to get better and the fever to break.... many months later the missionary's wife began to hear from different people... "What was happening on a certain night at this certain time? God called me to prayer for you urgently.... and so I prayed!"
Hugs,
Jenni

Oh Janie, I am so sorry, I just stopped by and read your post. We do know that the power of pray is a wonderous thing. I will pray for your Husband's speedy recovery and also for your Daughter and her beautiful little gift from God. But I will also pray for you, that God will give you the strength you need to be there for them all.
And I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to your beautiful Avery Grace.
Blessings to you my friend.

I dropped by to visit and catch up on things. I was not aware of the overwhelming circumstances. I will be thinking of you & lifting you up in prayer. So thankful your husband is making progress and your daughter is in good hands. It sounds as if the dr. is really keeping a close watch. Great news to hear of the lastest scores of "8".
