If you are a regular reader of Southern Lagniappe, you know I am fascinated by cows and love to photograph them. For the most part, they seem to be gentle creatures, and their faces are truly beautiful and have a look of innocence about them.
Anytime I see cows in a pasture close to the road, I just can't pass them by. I took these pictures Sunday afternoon just outside of Vicksburg. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them, if you'd like ...
ran from me when I walked up to the gate ...
I'm going rambling with my camera again this morning and look forward to discovering new and interesting things to photograph. You never know what you're going to find ... and, as with most things, the thrill of the hunt is half the fun.

Ya know, Janie, I've been around cattle all my life and I never really LOOKED at them, I think. Until YOU!! Your photos are wonderful and, yes, you are right...their faces and eyes reflect gentleness. I love their eyes. Thanks for opening MY eyes to the beauty of a cow...
I saw some LongHorn cattle the other day and I should have taken a photo for you. I will, the next time I am out that way.....

Just curious... What do you do with all your photos? You take such good shots, they're all frameable!
Julie: Thank you for taking the time to comment about my photos.
My husband gave me a wonderful photo printer for Christmas, and I plan to have a few of my favorite pictures framed to use in my house.
Thank you for asking ...
Sincerely,
Janie
Janie these are fabulous photos!
I'm in the market for a new printer. Would love to know which one you have.
Pat: My printer is Canon's "Pixma Pro 9000," and I love it. If it can make my pictures look good, it would make yours look awesome!
Love the cows. Once I stopped on the roadside to get some pics. of two pigs...did not know how fast a big pig can run...
Ramble with your camera any time, Janie! We love it!
xo,
Sheila :-)
