A Trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

This is the first in a series of posts I'm going to share about our recent trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It was a trip filled with lagniappe, and I'm going to begin with these pictures I took of the sunrise over Biloxi, Mississippi, early Saturday morning on April 10th. I took them from the beach across from our hotel in Gulfport.

It always amazes me how quickly the colors and cloud formations change during a sunrise or sunset.

It was so nice Saturday morning ... a little cool, but it was a glorious sunrise, and all was right with the world.

After the sun was up, I walked on the beach for a while. The tide was out and I was surrounded by seagulls on the sandbars chattering to each other (and fussing at me for trying to get too close to them).

I loved these sweet little sandcastles, and wish I could let whoever made them know that I captured them in a picture for "posterity."

Tomorrow I will share some pictures of the seagulls that were keeping me company on the beach. I had never really seen any up close, and I enjoyed watching them. They're beautiful little birds and left delicate little footprints in the sand ...

Good morning,
Your shots of the morning skies are beautiful..I can see why the old folks always said there is fire in the sky. We stayed in a Motel right across from the Beach several years ago before the Storm and I loved walking the Beach early in the Morning..it was such a quite peaceful time.
The photo of the Gulls foot prints are so sweet. Can't wait to see the rest of them.
I will let you know what the Dr. tells me today.
Thank you for caring.
Molly

Love Gulfport. Our family use to go there when I was much, much younger. The pictures are truly awesome. Thanks for sharing with us.

The bursting glory of sunrise, and the little washaway prints of birds in sand---how fleeting they both are, and how fragile and momentous and magnificent!

Thank you for freezing these forever.

It's like a special gift from God above everytime we get to watch a sunrise or sunset. Sometimes, He just outdoes Himself!!

My fav pic is the one of the discarded sand castles. Some little children had fun playing there the day before!

Wonderful, as usual! Loved these!
