Peter and Polly

Peter and Polly, are our little straw rabbits who, every year around this time, hop down from the attic just in time to welcome Spring to our house.

I don't know what they had been doing in the attic since last year, but they both looked rather bedraggled when they came down the stairs yesterday. One of Peter's arms was dangling, and Polly was dusty and in need of a makeover. But after a little gluing and sprucing up, I think they look sweet.

They usually sit outside our porch door to welcome visitors, but there's so much pollen in the air, I told them if they would behave themselves, they could stay inside on our breakfast table for a while.

They make me smile every time I pass by them ... and I can't wait for our granddaughter Avery Grace to see them when she comes to visit us later this week. She's going to spend part (or all) of her "Spring Break" from first grade with us next week, and last night I talked to her on the phone and asked her what she'd like to do. Without hesitation, she said, "Play school!"

Whatever we do, I'm looking forward to spending a lot of quality time with her. She's growing up way too fast for her Grandmama.

Ramblin' Fever

For weeks, I've had all the symptoms of Spring Fever.

I've replaced all my winter decorating accessories with Spring decor.

I've replaced my "winter door wreath" with my "Spring Wreath."

We've had our landscape plants trimmed in anticipation of their new Spring growth.

We trimmed the Confederate Jasmine vines around our front doors, and I added my Azalea baskets.

I've been taking pictures of anything and everything that is heralding Spring's arrival ...

And last Friday, I witnessed the first bumblebees and baby chameleons of the season frolicking in our courtyard.

So now that Spring looks like it is officially here (even though we had snow flurries Sunday!), I've pretty much gotten over my case of Spring Fever.

Unfortunately, it seems that I've come down with another malady called Ramblin' Fever! I have all the symptoms -- restlessness, staring out the window at the spring rains and cold March winds whipping the newly-leafed trees, reading books about places I want to go see and capture with my camera, and longing for a bright 70-degree sunshiny day when I don't have anything on the calendar (or have a fresh spring cold, like this week).

I know it will all come together soon, but until then ... I will just curl up with my "places I want to see" books and daydream of the day when my camera and I can get "on the road again," and I can be free of this awful Ramblin' Fever.

Fun Spring Catalogs

I love the convenience of shopping online, and did most of my Christmas shopping online. As a result, I have been receiving Spring catalogs in the mail every day. Here are a few things that caught my eye, plus I found some of them through Google.

Williams-Sonoma is one of my favorite places to shop, and here are a few of my favorite things they're offering for Spring and Easter:

Adorable (and pricey!) Steiff Bunny ($65.00)

And just look at this precious embroidered "Easter Garden" Tablecloth!

Have you ever noticed that in decorating, some things lead to other things? If you have a pretty tablecloth like that one, you've got to have stuff to put on it, right?

Well, check out these "Tiny Tapers" in Spring colors.

And, of course, you'd have to have these Bunny Taper Holders to go with the candles.

And then you'd need dishes and glasses, right? Never fear, Williams-Sonoma is way ahead of you!

I love these pretty little Bunny Glasses ...

And matching Bunny Dinnerware ...

You could also add a few of these sweet little Bunnies and Chicks from Pottery Barn ...

And speaking of Pottery Barn, I love this set of Galvanized Canisters and Watering Cans!

And from their Spring Pillow Collection, this "Spring Sparrow" Pillow ...

And on the whimsical side, Hearth Song offers these precious little solar-powered Dancing Flowers.

And for little ones' Easter baskets, there's these cute little wind-up "Springtime Pals" ...

Or this beautiful Beatrix Potter Floor Puzzle ...

I hope you enjoyed browsing through my collection of Spring catalogs. You can find them all through Google, and browse to your heart's content.

Spring Bunnies ... "Outdoor Wednesday"

Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday ...

I'd like to thank our gracious hostess Susan at A Southern Daydreamer, for taking the time to host our "Outdoor Wednesdays." I always look forward to seeing what's going on in everyone's outdoors, especially now that Spring is on the way.

Speaking of Spring ...

Today I'd like to share my little Spring Bunnies, all decked out in their gardener outfits, complete with gardening tools and baskets of carrots (you can click on the picture to enlarge it, if you'd like) ...

I usually put them outside this time of year and leave them until after Easter. Our little granddaughter Avery found an Easter egg hiding in them last year ...

They are beside our porch door and they never cease to make me smile when I see them.

I hope your Outdoor Wednesday is filled with smiles, too ... and lots of sunshine!

Sincerely,
