Hand-Me-Down Apron -- a "6th Picture" Tag

I was bored with the Super Bowl last night, and didn't really have any ideas for a post for today until my friend Diane at A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words, tagged me for a "6th Picture in your 6th Folder" Tag.

When I saw which picture it was, I couldn't help but smile.

This is our granddaughter Avery Grace who is 3-1/2, in her pajamas after her bath one night last April, "modeling" one of my aprons that my grandmother made for me when I was about Avery's size (gotta love those pink "crocs!").

Avery loves to play in the aprons and, of course, I love seeing her in them because they remind me of all the times I wore them when I was helping my grandmother cook. I hope Avery's memories of them will be as sweet.

P.S. -- I want to share Picture #5 with you, too. I took this picture of her sitting on the vanity brushing her hair after her bath ...

Looking back at these pictures makes me realize how much she has grown and changed since last April. She wasn't three yet then and still has that "babyish" look. It makes me want to "put a book on her head" to keep her from growing so fast!

Thanks, Diane, for including me in your tag. It was fun and gave me something to post for today.

They grow up tooooo fast, don't they? It only takes looking at pictures from a few months ago to realize how quickly they are growing up. Good thing we took LOTS of pictures!!! Love the aprons, how sweet.

Morning Janie! What an adorable picture; she is going to be one "knock-out" when she is all grown up, you can just see it! Love the hair brushing one too! I love this apron and the fact that you've had it all these (dare I say)many years!lol It makes me wish I had more sentimental things in my home to pass on. Yes, time does go by quickly and she is at the very best age (the most fun I think!)I know she is going to have many many good memories with her grandma! From gardening to cooking to playing dress up....but most important Just Spending Time Together! Ok I'm gettting all teary eyed here so off to get some things done!!!lol Have a great day - Sincerely, J

Janie, how precious she is! I know you're a very proud grandmother! She is a little doll!

I love that shot of her brushing her hair, and the one of her in her apron reminds me of cooking with my grandmother who was my favorite person in the world. That is so sweet that the two of you have such a special relationship. :-)

Love to you...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Morning Janie, What a darling Avery is and how lucky you are to be able to share her life. They grow up too fast, as you already know. As we grow older, we learn to enjoy each day and try to slow down to smell the roses. Have a blessed day.
