In the Shade of an Old Oak Tree: Blue Monday

I would like to thank Sally at Smiling Sally for taking the time to host our Blue Mondays.

Be sure and visit Sally and the other participants to see what they are sharing today.

Last week when I was out rambling in the country with my camera, I captured this picture of two old blue metal chairs under a huge oak tree.

I love that unusual shade of blue, which is what I call "cornflower blue."

Here is another version of the picture after I "photoshopped" it and created an "oil painting" effect ...

I enjoy participating in Blue Monday, and look forward to seeing what everyone is sharing today. Thank you again, Sally, for being our hostess.

I'm definately going to have to learn how to do that oil painting effect. Your photos are always great. Thanks for sharing.

I grew up with chairs like that, then hated them for looking so outdated, and now have come full circle and would love some of my own.

Happy Blue Monday!

What a 'peaceful moment' you caught in your lens! Two beautiful old chairs...just waiting for someone to come by and 'take a load off' and enjoy the shade of those trees!

Oh please share the paint color and brand of paint if you painted those chairs yourself. That's a gorgeous blue. Stop by my site for Blue Monday. If you see what you like, be sure to subscribe to my blog so that you can visit often. Just click "follow" on the right column.

I can just see myself sitting under that tree, enjoying a lemonade and catching up on some reading.
Growing up, we had chairs like that on our top patio...it's great to see that the "look" has returned.
Enjoy your day and thanks for sharing your blues!

What a great still-life in the countryside. Makes me want to write a story about who was sitting there chatting!
I think some people call that color Carolina Blue. I'm not sure, though.

I am so glad you had your camera .
What a wonderful shade of blue .
I love the cornflower blue as it blends so well yet can stand on it's own.
A lovely place to go for a walk with your camera.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Blessings to you .

I love your banner. The magnolia is my favorite flower. The picture of the blue chairs under the oak tree is so beautiful. You take wonderful pictures. Have you ever thought of putting a calendar together? I know I’d buy one. Absolutely stunning!

I love those chairs. They look like they were designed for a cool forest glade.

Great photo! But I really love the look after the "oil painting" effect. You came across a great still life...and it is always a good thing to have your camera with you at all times. For those unexpected shots!
