When I was considering subjects for my post today, it occurred to me how many ways the word "blue" is used in our everyday lives -- especially in expressions and in the titles of songs. For example, I'm sure we've all said or thought these words when trying in vain to make a point to someone who's just not getting it:
And then there's the expression we sometimes use to
describe the rarity of an event, "once in a ..."
The term "blue-collar" is derived from 19th century uniform dress codes of industrial workplaces.
