Fun with Goldfinches

During a recent visit to my parents' home in Louisiana, I staked out their Goldfinch feeder and captured some of the finches' antics with my camera. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them if you'd like to get a closer look.

Here's one coming in for a landing,
but YIKES! ... there's no where to land!

And I could almost hear this one saying,
"Hey, make room for ME!"

Patiently waiting their turn!

Even though his buddies deserted him when I inched forward to get a closer shot, this little guy sat still for me ...

What a delightful way to spend twenty minutes. I loved watching them and was glad I was able to get these pictures for my parents.

Hi Janie,
Loved this post...makes me want to buy a finch feeder!

Hope all is well with you!

How sweet they are, so tiny and so purposeful. I was thinking that in the first picture the guy on the lower right counter-stool was about to leave the diner and get back to work, so there would be room for the low-flier to sit down.

You just BRIGHT me EVERY DAY!!! I sit here and smile, and Chris will come and look over my shoulder.

Thank you for such moments, which I'd never have experienced, save for your camera and this far-reaching connection.

Such great pictures, I like the way you caught them in mid flight.
They are such fun to watch and snap pictures of.
