Mystery Flower

I took these pictures recently of a flower growing in one of our flowerbeds. Can you identify it? You can click on the pictures to enlarge them, if you'd like.

I captured a little lagniappe in the following picture, without realizing it until I edited it (see the little bug?).

Can you tell what it is yet?

I'm sure most of you have recognized this exquisite little flower by now, but I'd be willing to bet that you've never looked at them or thought of them as a thing of beauty until now.

Yes, it's a just a little Clover Blossom, happily thriving in our bed of Louisiana Irises.

I hope this will make you stop and think the next time you reach to pull up a clump of clover or another "weed" in your yard or flower beds ... and at least take the time to appreciate its beauty and uniqueness before you "yank it up."

Oh, I recognized it right away, my Sis and I used to lay in a field of white clover and plan and dream about the traveling we were going to do one day, then we would make long chains out of the blooms and make rings, such beautiful jewelry it was...lol..
Great close ups.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend..

I have to agree with you...sometimes we need to give the weeds a break...they can be so pretty..

OH, yes!! I'm a clover person---I can still make a clover-chain or wreath for a lady's hair (best done sitting cross-legged right IN the bed of clover, for best posture and selection).

I've been known to stop on country roadsides and grab a handful of the big red ones hanging there like dusty strawberries, bring them home and scatter them amongst my flowerbeds, hoping for a crop someday.

And I can still spot a four-leaf a yard ahead, at full walking pace---many a mile of my life's been spent strolling, musing, putting words together in my head, and scanning clover for that lucky FOUR.

I am a weed lover myself, a flower is a flower and I pretty much love them all. I also love your photography. I envy your close-ups! They are so detailed and sharp. I look forward to visiting again.

I love it. We are still in Destin, and my DIL called me last night and told me to be sure to go eat at a restaurant called Louisiana Lagniappe! Thought of you!
