I hope this finds you having fun decorating for Christmas, and I hope the "Spirit of Christmas" will fill your home and touch your heart ... wherever the coming days may take you. I've been "getting into the spirit" by doing some decorating, and the living room mantel was my first project. After using the same Christmas decorations for the mantel for several years, I decided to do something different this year. The following picture is of last year's mantel ... And here is the new look which features birds, birdhouses, vines, pine cones, and berries, with the focal point in the center being a family of feathery white owls ... The large cone shown in the next picture is from a giant Sequoia tree, and was collected by my Great Aunt Wynn during a trip to California decades ago. My mother passed it down to me, and I will always treasure it and hope to include it in my Christmas decorations for many years to come. I look forward to sharing a few more "projects" later this week, after I finish my "tweaking" and "fluffing." |

Janie,
Your fireplace mantel is so pretty. The berries and pine cones, especially your Aunt's keepsake just set everything off. But, my favorite is that little owl in the middle....he is adorable!
Have fun with your decorating. You do have a special touch.

Love your woodland Christmas mantel with the cute snowy owls and bird houses. It looks like you're off to a great start for getting in the spirit of Christmas.
