Beauty is Where You Find It

Beauty is where you find it ...
And today I found it in the trunks of trees.

Crape Myrtles

Pine Trees, Vicksburg National Cemetery
in Vicksburg National Military Park

Pascagoula Oak

Southern Magnolia Grandiflora
Vicksburg National Cemetery

Cedar Tree Trunk
Vicksburg National Cemetery

Old Gingko Tree
Vicksburg National Cemetery
My All-Time Favorite Tree

I hope you find beauty wherever today may take you. It's there waiting for you ... just look around and you will find it.

These trees are monuments. What size, what grandness and what beauty. My favorite tree, the Southern magnolia. Thanks for the look. Richard from My Old Historic House.

I DO---every day. But your eye, Sweetpea---your eye and lens send out the A-1 stuff, and we are all the richer for it.

Simply magnificent, especially the crepe myrtle in all her naked vulnerability and timeless beauty.

Janie, you and I share a love of ginkos. They are a favorite of mine, too. My sister used to have an enormous one in the yard of tiny carriage house she lived in when she was in Charleston. It was amazing, and she used to save the leaves because she loved the shape so much. I think the originated in China, didn't they? As did Loess soil.

XO,

Sheila
