Fall Potpourri

I hope you are enjoying Fall's arrival where you live. We're having glorious weather here in Vicksburg, and I'd like to share a few pictures of what early Fall looks like in Mississippi ...

OH, my---they're all so beautiful, but the HAY BALES!! That neat, spare field, dotted with the perfectly-rolled bundles---just lovely---prosperity rolled up in a job well done.

But that FIRST one has me itchy already---I've avoided the dread "BAD GRASS" assiduously all Summer, and I swear you were stepped right into the middle of the patch. It's amazing, the beauty of treacherous things, isn't it?

And I was also amazed a few year ago, as I wandered a deserted gravel road whilst Chris tramped the brush-fallen side field---the ditch was absolutely filled with the stuff, and each stem had the most exquisite little spray of microscopic white "lilies" on the end. I'd never known it BLOOMED.

As beautiful as it is here, I've always LOVED the turning of the Fall in the South.

Loved seeing all these wigns of fall. All near to our hearts...us Southern women. We see it again and again.

Have finally gotten my 'fav'blogs in the google blog reader. Which is great, except, I can not comment from there. I know there must be someway you can do it without shutting down and going to the blog.

Rest assured, I'm reading each post...and trying to comment. But, like today, I may end up doing several at once.

Happy Fall!
