Thursday Lagniappe: The Star Spangled Banner

Our son-in-law Doug is blessed with a beautiful singing voice, and this recording of him singing The Star Spangled Banner never ceases to give me chill bumps and instill in me a sense of patriotism and pride for our country ... as well as pride for Doug's talent.

This is Doug singing "Jesus Loves Me," with our granddaughter Avery ...

I hope you enjoy this presentation as much as I enjoyed creating it.

What a spectacular voice your son in law has! I can't imagine opening my mouth and hearing a voice like that coming out! What a lovely tribute to our beloved country! Hugs, Loretta

Janie, what a great talent your son in law is blessed with. He really "nailed" it. So many celebrities like to "butcher" the song, which I find disrespectful. Your slide show is very touching as well.
God Bless America.

That was so beautiful. You know my son is in the Air Force. He just sang this for a banquet there. They loved him and has ask him to do it for another event. I must say he is much more country though. Your son in law has a beautiful voice.

Hi Janie,
Doug has a beautiful voice! I love how you have showcased his talent with Smilebox!

Have you used the DVD feature yet? I haven't tried it, but you are inspiring me to try making more Smileboxes. I haven't done one in a while!

What a good job your son in law did! And your slide show... one towards the end was an older veteran, which really touched my heart. I have the series of Tom Brokaw "Greatest Generation" books, which I HIGHLY reccommend. I think we're so blessed to still have some of these strong people in our lives, but we're loosing them & their values & stories so quickly.

Oh, Janie! His voice is annointed! His rendition of the SSB is just awesome and so are your pictures. Fort McHenry in the rockets' red glare is incredible to think about, too, isn't it?

God Bless America and YOU!

XO,

Sheila :-)
