A Mississippi Courtyard and Waterfall: Outdoor Wednesday

I'd like to thank our gracious hostess Susan at A Southern Daydreamer, for taking the time to host our "Outdoor Wednesdays."

I always look forward to seeing what's going on in everyone's outdoors, especially now that Spring is here.

Speaking of Spring ... everything looks so lush and green right now that I thought I'd better get some photos of our courtyard and waterfall areas before the long, hot summer arrives (we've already had temperatures in the high 80's here in Vicksburg!).

I created a slideshow of my pictures, beginning at the front of our house outside the gate to the courtyard. Next, are views of the entire area, including the covered porch, patio area, side yard and path leading to the backyard, and the waterfall and pond, with connecting stream.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow. If you'd like to hear the music, turn your sound up before clicking on "Play."

I hope you have a happy outdoor Wednesday ... however and wherever you spend it!

Now that is lovely! My faves -- Maude and Claude (love waterfowl that don't foul the area!), the iron work especially the arbor, and the groundcover growing between the pathway stones.
LOVELY! Cass

I watched it twice to decide what I liked the best...couldn't! Because you have a great court yard from the water feature to each and every flower! Thanks for sharing.

What an absolutely beautiful spot. Love the pineapples by the gate and the fleur de lis. Lovely. My husband graduated from All Saint's in Vicksburg. Love to visit there.

Beautifully done Janie! Even though our little "Sanctuaries" may appear different in some physical aspects, we all need that little place where we can go to get away and think and dream and spend time alone with God. You've done a beautiful job on yours!

Janie, I too am speechless! Your courtyard is beautiful beyond words. I realize it just didn't get that way overnight, so much and I am sure there still is. I look at my poor yard and wonder if it could ever look 100th that good and say Nope. So I will just enjoy yours. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, I feel like I just took an expensive garden tour but it was free and I sat at my computer. You have a wonderful outdoor area, can you come to my house and design one for me?

This is absolutely wonderful. You need to put it on one of those digital screens and play it over and over again when the hot summer sun is beating down. Thank you so much for sharing. You have completed a beautiful slideshow.

Janie, I just adore your house and your courtyard, both! And I love the vines (is that Confederate Jasmine?) around the gate area, and the ivy around the door. It's wonderful! Love all of your plantings, the water feature, and the garden ornaments. I want to sit in your rocker and take it all in and enjoy! But your doors and lantern over it are stunning.

Love it all...

XO,

Sheila :-)
