A Little Touch of Blue

I would like to thank Sally at Smiling Sally for taking the time to host our Blue Mondays. Be sure to visit Sally and see all the fun blues she found at a baseball game with her grandchildren.

This is a flowerbed against the fence in our backyard, in which I have an old concrete birdbath. The birdbath is pretty, but tends to fade away behind all the plants and flowers (it's on the right in the picture, with the armillary on top) ...

Here is a better view of the birdbath in a picture taken a couple of summers ago (I can't believe how bare it looked then) ...

On my recent ramblings, I've noticed a lot of blue being used in yards and gardens ...

I love all of those and decided I wanted something blue in my yard, too. Of course, we have Harry, our Blue Heron who lives beside our waterfall ...

But I wanted more blue and decided my plain concrete birdbath was a perfect candidate for a makeover. I think I'm pleased with the results. I like the blue, but I'm just not sure about that shade of blue. What do you think?

I think you're very smart to even think of painting your bird bath. I do like the job you've done. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

I think you have a great shade of blue for that bird bath. It stands out and blends at the same time. I enjoyed your other garden blues too.

It's perfect! Don't change a thing. I would have never thought to paint a birdbath blue, but I love it. You had a vision and it was successful! I love your birdhouses on the fence too. I think I might borrow that idea from you if you don't mind.

Happy blue Monday!

I like the blue! It looks great against the weathered gray of your fence and really pops while surrounded by the green. Nice touch!

Happy Blue Monday!

I loved that blue birthbath at first sight, when I opened the page, on your header!

The glass globes are beautiful too.
This kind of spheres are called "Rosenkugel" - rose globe - and grace many a rose garden here.
Did you see the blue one in one of my recents posts?
