Signs of Fall

Although our temperatures are still hovering in the low 90s, there is definitely a hint of Fall in the air. The sky is brilliant blue, the air seems clearer, and goldenrod is blooming along the roadsides ... a sure sign Fall is, indeed, on its way.

I was trying so hard not to rush the season and at least wait until the middle of September to do my Fall decorating, but yesterday I couldn't stand it any longer. Here is just a preview of what I've done so far ...

The vines and berries are new, but the basket was my great-grandmother's, and I'm pleased with the way it looks on our breakfast table.

I'm still in the "tweaking" stage on some of my other decorating projects, but hope to share them next week. Until then, best wishes to you and your family for a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend.

I CAN FEEL IT!! I can see the sun-dapples down the stairs from the open back door, the air in the house is totally fresh and cool, and Chris just came in from outside for a pair of long pants.

Your decorations are always just so beautifully done, and set the stage for beautiful Fall gatherings. And just waking to see them there, so cheerful and season-changing---what a lovely way to start the day.

J~
as I dug out my flannel jammies last evening, and awoke to 44 degrees this morning, fall is definitely in the air..
I'm not quite ready to say good by to summer just yet..but can understand those who do..
for me, Autumn is too short lived and the Winter here in Denver is just way tooo long for this southern beachy girl..
your basket arrangement is BEAUTIFUL!!
Goldenrod and I do NOT get along at all.. except in lovely photos such as yours!
have a beautiful holiday weekend..
warm sandy hugs..

I am so ready for fall, but then Fall has always been my favorite time of year. The colors, the smells in the air. The State Fairs soft cool breezes, falling leaves, snuggling up to a fire outside wrapped in a blanket roasting weiners. So many happy times in my life are wrapped in memories of Fall.
I like your decorations can't wait to see the rest of them.

I've just returned from Michael's where they hit me over the head with fall! Pumpkins and vines and goblins, OH MY! Every aisle is filled with it...so if you wanted something else...you're out of luck! I have been itching now to remove my summery beach decor and move on to fall. But, all the family is coming over tomorrow to swim and eat and eat and visit and eat. We have 6 summer birthdays, so we celebrate them all at once. That's why everything beachy is still up! But after tomorrow night, it'll be out of here soon!

Have a great holiday weekend! Oh, love the basket and fixins!

Beautiful! It is definitely starting to feel fallish here. Some days are still very hot but there is a different smell and sound in the air. This morning it was 57. Loved it!

Your table looks very nice. You are inspiring me to do a little work this weekend. :)

What a pretty basket! And those berry branches look just right in it. I, too, started my fall decorating today. It was fun even though it is still pretty warm here in Texas.

I always say my favorite months of the year end in "ber" because it's cooler, and to me, Fall and Christmas are all about family.

Enjoyed your photos, as I always do; they add a little extra "happy" to my day!

This is just so beautiful, Janie. It is definitely feeling like early Fall, here in the Ozarks.
